Washington Blues

from $55.00

Limited print run. The reverse of each print is stamped for authenticity and signed and numbered by the photographer.

Photographer’s Note: I traveled to the San Juan Islands (an archipelago in Washington state near Vancouver Island) to try to find orca whales. I spent a day paddling in surprisingly calm and blue waters. The quest for orcas was unsuccessful as their sightings are becoming more and more rare but the scenery was nonetheless stunning. I have never seen such beautiful blue waters outside of the tropics. As the day wore on, the sea became more and more glassy, until it reached this incredible reflective state. The kayak is included in the crop of this print to help provide scale and context to the vastness of the blue seas and sky. I personally love that it looks like you could paddle straight into the clouds.
